When the fishing gets tuff, you
gotta get some slider worms! Slider worms are specially made to imitate a swimming
baitfish. The proven method to work these worms is to simply cast it out and SLOWLY
reel it in. The natural impulses that are sent through your hand, through the rod,
line, and to your lure entices a bite even in the toughest conditions. Slider makes
worms, craws, lizards, and grubs in many fish catching colors. To learn more about

I have tried panther martins and they are
really good in streams, river, and closed areas of the lake. Try picking up 2-3 of these

Roland Martin Big Crappie Spinnerbait
Was at a lake that had mostly little bass
but still had big ones. I didnt know what to use at first. So I brought out the Roland
Martin Big Crappie Spinnerbait. Was pulling up bass by the minutes. Walk a little bit down
the lake and low and be hold I pull up a monster 7 maybe 6 pound bass. At first I thought
it was a little one when he hit but when he jumped thats when I knew he was a bigger one.
I was using the willow type blade with my secret color. This lure will catch you big and
small bass. Thats why I dont really get big lures cause the small ones will do just fine.

I love to fish. In fact I almost do it
everyday. I have used a lot of lines in the past and one has stayed on all of my reels for
the past year now. It is Spiderwire Fusion. Im not talkin about that sorry original
Spiderwire braid stuff, I'm talking about fusion. It's great, since it is no strech it
gives you those kind of instent hook sets you can only love, and since it doesn't strech
it doesn't snap like mono unless you cant tie knots. The only fish I ever lost on it was a
huge snook. The fish was so strong it took my lure and left half of a swivel. In my
opinion it's the best line on the market.

This product is amazing! The first time I cast it out in the reedline a largemouth bit and I reeled it on in. I only caught one bass with it, but fished for about five minutes! I recommend this lure for people who don't want to spend a lot of money for lures. It's only 3 bucks! (at wal-mart)

I bought the mini one and it is
bar-none the best crappie lure besides live bait. I just jerked my rod tip up (makes it
rattle) and a crappie comes out of nowhere to hook itself on my Rat-L-Trap! I have never
caught a bass with it but never have tried, however most crappies bite on what bass bite
on. Also, there are more varieties available for about 3 bucks.

The Floater is a great choice for both beginners and pros and can be fished so many different ways. For beginners it can be fished with a steady retrieve and pros can fish it with many twitches and jerks both above and below the surface. I prefer twitching it on the surface both fast or slow. It is very effective for Bass, Pickerel, and monster Bluegill. For Bass I recommend a silver or gold/flourecent red and any size between #'s 5-9. For Pickerel I recommend a perch or gold/flourecent red in size #'s 7-9. For monster Bluegill I recommend any color in size #5. This lure is a must buy and will provide you with excellent topwater or just below the surface action.

Mitchell Spidermite Baitcasting Reel
It is a great reel when you want a good fight out of your fish. It has a 2 ball bearing drive and a 4.5:1 gear ratio and features an excellent quick change spool system. I recommend teaming it up with 6lb. Spiderwire Supermono or Premium Braid and a 6ft. medium light power Cabela's IM7 Graphite Tournament Trail BC rod. This reel casts excellent with lures ranging from 1/8-3/8oz. This reel is a best buy for ultralight fishing so go out and pick it up today. P.S. I am not a salesperson for Mitchell or Cabela's I am just an avid Bass fisherman.

Trilene XL is okay. I have used this line
various times and have had it break on many occasions when I was reeling in large fish.
Even though it has low visibility, provides good casting, and good fights with fish it is
not worth the time and/or effort of losing lures and retying knots. I do not
recommend this line to anyone.
by James Ranking: POOR
I have tried this reel and found that
it is an okay reel. Personally I think that it is good if you are fishing heavy tackle ,

I have been
using Fireline for about 6 months now, and I am quite pleased with it. It is about the
strongest line I have ever used and doesn't fray like spiderwire seems to. In order to get
the maximum effect, you must use a palomar knot. I have had to actually cut my line on
several occasions because the line was too stout and the hook too strong! At times it has
seemed a little too sensitive and caused me to miss some strikes, but it was easy to
adjust. Do not use it when fishing a buzzbait or spinner bait and using a fast rod. You
WILL miss the strike. All in all, a reliable product.
by Steve Gann Ranking: MUST BUY
This spinnerbait is a very good one
indeed. It performs like it is supposed to and lives up to all claims EXCEPT ONE: It is
not indestructable. In fact, when it comes to strength, it is very un-reliable. Here is
the reason. On SEVERAL occasions my partners and I have had problems with this lure
breaking in half at the line tie. When you are in a good bite and you lose your lure
because an indestructable bait destructs, it can be quite aggravating. Because of this
flaw, I will not buy another until the problem is rectified. Some will last longer than
others, but they will break at some point soon after purchase.

Norman Lures makes a line of crankbaits
that I highly recommend. I was using a $4.50 Bandit crankbait but after 2 days of fishing
the finish peeled right off the lure. As a result, I found similar Norman crankbaits for
$1.99 and they have held up well. In fact, the first day I used it I caught an 8 lb bass.
These lures run well in the water and look good. Norman also makes a real cheap line of
lures (which I do not recommend) which are more like name brand knock-offs of lures like
the Rattle Trap and are sold in quantities of 4 to a pack which are just that - cheap. If
you fish crankbaits find the $1.99 Norman Lures - they're worth it- especially if you like
to fish close to heavy cover and have to give a lure back to the lake every once in
awhile.

This product is worthless. We administered a test in clear water and murky water situations. The bass looked at only when it entered the water. They showed very little interest. Some might say it was a bad fishing day but it was not. We changed to Berkley Power Worms and caught the same fish.

Gambler Hibdon Ninja Jig Heads
I bought some of these jig heads this spring to use with skirted grubs and I found they work great. The ring around the shaft holds the plastic on better than anything else I've used. They come in 2 or 3 sizes 1/8,1/4,3/8. The wedge shaped head doesn't hangup like some other heads I've used and the brush guard helps to keep it from hanging up too.

Fireline is
horrible line. I bought it and put it on my spinning reel and my baitcaster. I was reading
the package it said that it was the fastest and most sensitive line in the world. I tied a
rat-l-trap and on my first cast the knot slipped and I got terrible backlash. and then I
got my spinning rod out the line started to loop off of my reel and get tangled. It ruined
my fishing outing and I lost $20. I'll stick with regular mono from now on.

I recently tried out a device called the

several bass on a spinnerbait, and then went on vacation to the coast and had similar

I bought this reel a couple years ago. It had a better price to it's competition, the Shimano Symetre. So I went with the Energy. I bought the 5 ball bearing model, the size 2 (the popular size). I was very impressed with it's balance. However, there were some factory defects on my model; however, I can't knock Quantum for that. I really like it, the balance is great, it's pretty smooth. But -- but, it makes a lot of noise. When I reel the line with tension on it, the reel makes a bit of a grinding noise. I had to bring it to the service shop to replace the line roller. However, the line roller didn't seem to be the problem, it still made the noise. Also, my drag wasn't working right; I had to get that fixed. I was very annoyed with Quantum's service, I even went to their website and left them a message. I received no reply. The product is good, but the service is almost garbage. I would also like to note that Quantum didn't include any Canadian warranty centres on the pamphlet. I'm very disappoined with that, also. I bought a Quantum Snapshot a few years ago and I noticed a Canadian warranty centre. It's not on the pamphlet, but I went to one of the only warranty centres in Canada and I did get it repaired.

Tim Poe Thunder Lure Spinnerbaits
I've been fishing this bait for several years now. It is a small profile spinnerbait that you can get in a variety of weights. The To Your Door Sports catalog offers over 250 different combinations. If you would like a free catalog that includes all of these baits as well as many others e-mail me at Mlittle596@aol.com. You will never be sorry you got this bait. A lot of time went into a head design, and balancing this bait so it would be a great bait. Take a close look at the 1/4 oz DP Special in white with the Indaina/Colorodo combination. I've fished many of buzzbaits in my time. There is one on the market made by Krockergator out of the St. Louis MO area that ranks supreme on my list for buzz baits. What makes this lure different from your typical buzzbait is that the blade hits the head of the lure on every rotation. What this does is make a "clacking" noise that is second to none. I've brought fish up in the toughest conditions that would not hit anything else. I believe that the fish hit this bait mainly out of aggression. I know that there are other companies on the market that make similar "head knocking" baits. One things for sure, with out a doubt, they definitely work.

and all of them have broken!!! I thought these were supposed to be indestructible. For

The patterning of the skirts is excellent. The colors in the skirts are broken up to give

purple which make you think of Mardi Gras, and not bait fish.

I went to the tackle shop near my house and purchased a Mepp's black fury, I wanted to experiment with spinners so I took it to a creek by my house. The spot I was fishing was a deep hole under a main street bridge. It was close to night and I just wanted to test it out. I cast a few times and retrieved it a few different ways. I was out for about an hour, when darkness was fully apparent I decided to cast a few more times. Heck in about 2 cast I was amazed, for first time I had learned for one that the creek I was fishing actually had bass in it, and two these bass were going nuts over the black fury. This led to many experiments in the creek, I would go out during the day with no luck but just about every night I would go out about 8-10 o'clock and just about cast after cast I would catch a bass. Though they were small to 1 pounders it just amazed me how efficient this lure was at night. I did try it in lakes and rivers during the day but had no luck, but in the creek where I had always played with my lures, including some power worms and flying lures, rattle traps etc. it really worked well. I also had luck off a green poka dotted mepps as well. I recommend it to the stream fishers and creek fishers around.

I used a peril colored 4 or 6 inch lure, one of the bigger ones in the package. I cast the Lure in a bridge tunnel in the Shenandoah River. I skipped it back in the tunnel and to my amazement a moby dick sized bass hit it on the second skip, the drag sounded immediately and the rod bent for about a mile. I tried to reel it in but it was just to big. The bad news was I had broke the handle on my reel so I had borrowed a friends spare and it was not plentiful with the string. I watched as the bass took the last few feet of string and almost in a fit of tears I watched the string go to the knot holding it to the reel and snap. I have used the smaller lures before and always caught a fish just about every time I used it, mostly rock bass, small mouth and a few large mouth. The color of my choice was purple, yellow, white and red shad. The trick is to find the right spot and know how to use the lure properly. I have used this lure in the Shenandoah River many times and the places I have went were public boat landings and places that have had plenty of traffic. I really recommend this lure because I have used it on days when fish just wouldn't bite live bait and all my other lures didn't work very well. I however did not have much luck in streams or lakes but the river worked better then any other lure. To me this lure is like my survival kit, never let me down on those boring days fishing.

I'm not trying to put the other brand down but I caught more and bigger fish with culprit then the other. I used the culprit in a lake and found it was probably the best choice in artificial bait in that lake considering I spent many days and hours fishing it, different times of the year etc. I have jacked many 2 pound bass out of the lake but have gotten 3, 5, and a 6 pound bass out of that lake. All using the culprit 6 inch original. Note for my area those are considered very good sized bass since on average the biggest is 6 pounds.

When I went looking for a new tacklebox, I felt that a new soft tacklebox was for me. My Plano softside tacklebox cost only $15 and holds just as much tackle as hard tackleboxes twice its size. Great Idea, but does not close completely if all 10 wraps are used. Also tends to be flimsy when full. There are other similar products that open up to a FLAT wrap that has zippers on each pocket that works GREAT!!(10-15 pocket models)

Yamamoto grubs take lunker largemouths! Period! Fishing in upstate NY using small, 3" single tail grubs nets you a lot of time removing rock bass and perch from your line (not bad, but when you're after bronze backs it gets annoying). Tie on a Yamamoto skirted grub in whatever color suits your water color and and the lunkers seem to appear out of nowhere. It's like a filter for small fish...I highly recommend this lure for all smallmouth enthusiasts.

I've had a Team Daiwa Procaster X for about two weeks now, and I love it! It has 3 bearings, continuous anti-reverse, a more efficient casting system, and a flipping switch. I found it to be a a very good buy, and would also recommend a Triforce Z (one step down-1 less bearing) or a Procaster Z (6 bearings) as I have used them all and love them. These things cast great, have a good speed gear ratio, and can easily take the big ones. The only thing these are missing from more expensive reels is an aluminum frame, but hey, how many low-profile baitcasters have one, especially considering how good these reels perform and how cost-effective they are. I love them!

I think that daredevils spoons are great lures. They may not be the best for bass but you can such a large variety of fish. They are good for smallmouth, trout, pike, and muskie. They are ok for largemouth, walleye, stripers, and white bass. Plus with a small spoon you can catch bluegill, crappie, bullhead, and channel cats. Now I think that covers most of the sport fishing species.

I don't have the luxury of owning a boat, so I do most of my fishing from the shore. This limits the type of fish that I can go after. I fish primarily for Crappie, Rock Bass, Blue gill, Sunfish, and the occasional Largemouth that wanders too close to shore. I have fished every lure available over the last 30 years, but the Berkley Power Grub outfishes them all. Even on really hot days when nothing is biting, the Berkley Power Grub delivers. It has a great swimming action in the water that really attracts fish, and the scent is unbeatable. They stink unbelievably, but fish seem to love the smell. If I could only choose one bait to catch panfish, it would definitely be the Berkley Power Grub.

I have just found a worm that catches more fish than any other worm that I have ever thrown. It is the screamer. I found it at this little cafe. He had a few other baits and these worms. I looked at them and he told me that I had to try them and so I did. If you have not seen them they have ribs running the full length of the worm witch makes it twist in the water. It makes alot of water displacement. The fish love them.

This line stinks! It has no

The High Roller is one of the finest topwaters I have ever

great paint finishes and they are really durable. You can cast it into rocks, bang
it into logs, or slap it on the old bass boat, it still looks fantastic! The hooks

The Terminator is a very good

thing is that the quickskirt system , in that is allows many different you to put many
different colors on in little time. The first time I went fishing with the

feel it all the way up to your rod tip! The first time I used it I was deeply impressed
when I casted into brush and jigged it about 3 feet deep in about 5 feet deep water and
caught a 9lb LM bass! It is well worth the 4 bucks it cost but it has a few small
drawbacks. It snags very easily and if you lose it you have other bodies but no hooks. It
comes with about 3 bodies but only one hook and they don't sell the hooks separately at
this time, but otherwise a terrific lure.

The Bass Assassin 5 inch shad is not only the best soft jerk-bait, but it is, in my opinion, one of the best lures period. This versatile lure is new to me, but I have quickly picked up on it's various actions. You can walk the dog with it, with quick short downward jerks. You can fish it in a snap and dive, Banjo minnow type retrieve. Carolina rig it with a 3 ft leader ( insane strikes) . Or rig it with a Blakemore Scoot-tin or jaker jig (use the scoot-tin). I have been absolutely destroying every body of water in Northeast and Central Oklahoma with it. My recommendation is to rig it with a Mustad 3\0 mega-bite hook, and use a thin, but strong, mono (like Silver Thread) or a super line (I use spider-wire) The assassin is offered in different sizes and colors. I have tried the 7 in. (with little success,go figure?) , and I recommend any one of the translucent metal-flake colors, for clear to stained water. (green flash,s\p phantom, black silver flake) Try it , You will see!

Due to the growing popularity of tournament fishing, more and more anglers
have found the need for an easier, more organizable tackle box. Soft sided bags have been
very useful to those that fish many different lakes. The bag allows them to store all
their tackle in utility boxes and put which boxes in the bag they want easily. If they are
going to fish a lake that has a bite for crankbaits, you can easily take out the previous
lake's topwater boxes and replace them with the new lake's crankbait boxes. Another
feature is the compact design (for what it holds). Although some get big, you will
appreciate their size when you notice how much storage and options they provide. Tackle
Logic (by Plano), has been very popular among tournament and avid anglers in the past
couple months. The new Tackle Logic bags offer the most storage and storage options than
almost every other tackle box/bag. The tournament bag hold five 3700 utility boxes with
five or six 3600's. Another option is to use all 3600's standing upright in the bag.
Tackle Logic has taken storage to another level by introducing Lure Wraps. These
allow you to store your spinnerbaits, crankbaits, worms, and almost all other types of
baits in the most compact storage. There is place for either 2 wraps (filling the main
part with the utility boxes) or using multiple wraps in the main area. These bags
sure hold a lot of lures and the "ease to get your lures out" is the best I have
ever seen. I encourage you to buy a Tackle Logic bag. I know I am very happy with mine!

Shimano has for long proved their popularity and demand in the bike
industry and now has shown anglers they can do the same in the fishing world. This company
has put to use it's millions of dollars of gear technology into the reels fisherman use
today. Among the most famous are the Citica, Curado, Coriolis, Calcutta, and Chronarch. I
believe Shimano makes the nicest reels in the industry (my opinion). One of the nicest
features of their reels are their use of the non-magnetic approach to super casting. They
use centrifugal force to throw lures longer. The centrifugal impact on the cast is
controllable by moving some weights on or off the axis. Other companies use magnets. These
magnets help more in the beginning of the cast, while shimano's reel improves the end of
the cast. I use the Calcutta for two reasons, one, it is a nice reel (pretty obvious), and
two, it comes in a left hand retrieve model. I have never believed in switching hands in
casting or flipping. It is really annoying. Another thing is your power hand holds the
rod, giving you the quickest, strongest hooksets and the best rod control for presenting
lures. I never could understand why other companies never made reels for the average
person. The Calcutta has the old-fashion round profile. The reel is very smooth and super
durable. I haven't had a problem with it. Shimano's Web Site - http://www.shimano.com/

The Shimano Citica has been one of my favorite reels I own. It has super smooth casting, a slick drag, and a strong, lightweight all-aluminum frame compared to most others in its price range. The Citica offers a 5:1 gear ratio and it fits into the palm of your hand perfectly. It uses the centrifugal weight system to throw baits farther. It has the Super Stopper anti-reverse, 1 stainless steel ball bearing and 1 roller bearing. Most of all, it comes in a left hand retrieve, for us anglers that refuse to switch hands to cast. I like this reel a lot, and for an average price of only $99, I would recommend this reel to everyone.

Hank Parkers Vampire Spinnerbait
Hank Parkers Vampire Spinnerbait has been debated whether it is a gimmick or the real thing. After trying out the Vampire, I wasnt really impressed. Fishing it over or through the tops of hydrilla, milfoil, and other "snaggy" grasses, I found myself constantly cleaning the bait. The Vampire did offer a good flash, yet lacked the erratic actions of standard spinnerbaits. I think there is one application that the Vampire would do very well in, and that is slow-rolling. You could get those blades going at slow speeds and still get good flash.

Hi, my name is Angelo Scott and I have been fortunate to have bass fished all over the nation. As you can imagine, over the years I have tried many different plastic baits. About a year ago I tied on my first Berkley PowerWorm (color=Blue Fleck), and I have not fished another type of worm since! As soon as you open the package you will learn what makes the PowerWorm different. They have a strange or peculiar smell to them. But, it is this scent that makes them the best plastic that you can possibly tie. The PowerWorm may increase your number of strikes, but it will definitely increase the number of bass that you actually get to the boat. Once the fish has made the decision to go after the foul smelling bait, he won't let go. This week, while fishing a local pond with extremely clear water, I decided to see just how long a fish would hold the bait. Upon the lure hitting the water, I could see the bass go after the Powerworm. She held it in her mouth for about 30 seconds. After that period of time I started to slowly reel it in. Instead of the fish being spooked, it actually held on the the lure nearly all the way to the boat! Many times anglers will not even realize when a fish hits their plastic lure. With the Powerworm this will no longer be the case. Once you try it you will probably discard all other soft plastics from your tackle box.

This Crankbait is a sure bet in spring time while the water temps are rising. The Minus-1 floats, and can be fished in almost any situation. Fishing a stump? Roll the Minus-1 right up next to it and let it float to the top and oh yeah, Hang On! The Minus-1 is also productive on steep banks and shallow points. The Hooks are razor-sharp treble hooks and come ready to go out of the box. So when bass are cruising the banks, or holding tight to cover, toss them a Mann's Minus-1 and multiply your strikes.

Powerbait has come a long way in designing their baits. I would recommend this type of bait to anyone. I've been using a white grub ever since I began fishing. You can strap it on a Texas rig or a Carolina rig and either way it will still catch a lot of fish. Since the grub is white it is easily seen by fish, especially through grassy cover. The Powerbait scent is strong and is very detectable by a fish that is just wandering around. I hope you try this bait out. It's really that good !
